Die erste Hitzewelle endet, die nächste steht schon wieder an: Brandenburg wird zum Hot-Topic. Doch die Hitze bedroht nicht nur Menschen, sondern auch zahlreiche Tiere und Ökosysteme wie Seen und Flüsse. Hier verdunstet während der Hitze das Wasser, während im Winter nicht genügend Regen nachkommt um neues Grundwasser nachzubilden. Parallel dazu haben fast alle Landkreise Grundwasserstress: Industrie und Co. entnehmen mehr Grundwasser als sich nachbilden kann. In Hitze-Zeiten wie diesen hilft aber nur eins: Wasser trinken und Baden. Doch Bürger*innen werden aufgefordert zum Wassersparen, obwohl 70% des Wasserverbrauchs in Deutschland durch die Industrie-und Energiekonzerne verbraucht werden.
Während also in den Medien die Rede von Rekorden, Urlaubsende am Gardasee und Wasserspartipps ist, kämpfen wir an den Flüssen für echte Wassergerechtigkeit. Wir schaffen Orte für Austausch, Vernetzung und kulturellen Beziehungen zu Flüssen, denn Wasser ist Leben und existenziell für uns alle. Wir möchten euch unser Flusscamp-Manifest vorstellen, Wassergeschichten erzählen und die Wasserkonflikte in Brandenburg gemeinsam diskutieren.
Mitbringen werden wir unser großes "Water-always-Wins"-Banner und A1 Plakate auf Spendenbasi. Menschen können gemeinsam während des Vortrags ein Wimmelbild ausmalen.
Die Veranstaltung findet auf deutsch statt, Flüsterübersetzung auf englisch ist möglich.

The first heatwave is ending, and the next is already on the horizon: Brandenburg is becoming a hot topic. Yet, the heat threatens not only people but also countless animals and ecosystems, such as lakes and rivers. During heatwaves, water evaporates rapidly, while winter rainfall is insufficient to replenish groundwater levels. At the same time, almost all districts are facing groundwater stress: industry and other sectors extract more groundwater than can be naturally replenished. In times of heat like these, however, there is only one remedy: drinking water and swimming. Yet citizens are urged to conserve water, even though industrial and energy corporations account for 70% of water consumption in Germany.
While the media talks about record temperatures, the end of Lake Garda holidays, and water-saving tips, we are fighting for true water justice along the rivers. We create spaces for exchange, networking, and fostering cultural connections with rivers—because water is life and essential to us all. We would like to present our River Camp Manifesto, share water stories, and discuss the water conflicts in Brandenburg together.
We will bring our large "Water-always-Wins" banner and A1 posters available for a donation. Attendees can work together to color in a detailed "Wimmelbild" illustration during the presentation.
